The MRK2100 collection, made in ceramic and 18k gold, is designed to redefine jewelry for a new generation. This combination of these materials in fine jewelry design, with the level of technical craftsmanship, is unique.
“My newest Ceramic collection was directly inspired by the Art Deco period where great jewelry used a lot of black onyx and white agate. I am also an avid collector of white pottery...which was an important movement during this same period and it served as inspiration for me as well in developing this new collection for fall.” - Monica Rich Kosann
Reimagined and redefined, the MRK2100 Locket Collection is exceptionally unique, the complexity of the styles requires an extremely high level of technical development and jewelry expertise. These exquisite pieces are reinventing the locket.
The Paris antique and flea markets, which have always been a place of inspiration to Monica, is where she first discovered the Les craqueles Art Deco... a white pottery Art Deco movement .She fell in love with these pieces, particularly the sculpted ceramic animals and birds, which inspired her to interpret these pieces into jewelry using gold and ceramic.
In her usual storytelling style, Monica created the Bird "Soar" Pendant Necklace which inspires one to reach new heights and the “Perseverance” Fish Pendant Necklace encouraging enduring strength.
