When summer kicks into high gear, there is nothing like the easygoing and effortless chic of sterling silver. The subtle nature of this metal allows me to pile bracelets on my wrist and never look overdone. One of my favorite aspects of some of the pieces that I am wearing is that they are set with rock crystal which has a magical vibe.
A stone that is used for its healing and spiritual properties, it’s also imbued with an elegance that is at once mystical and clean-lined. I have designed it with a geometric feeling in a three-row bracelet that is the perfect contrast for me to wear combined with more jingly charm bracelets and chunky link chains. The earrings are more fluid with movement in elongated teardrop shapes with sparkly white sapphire surrounds which add a nonchalant femininity to the bolder layers on my wrist.
I love the idea of earth and sky meeting and to me the Earth charm on my bracelet and the faceted crystal men’s cocktail ring on my pointer finger evoke how they collide to form jewelry that speaks to different aspects of life and a women’s own moods and how she can combine many adventures into one day, including snatching her husband’s ring to wear with her other pieces.
Another favorite of mine is the Vesta case necklace which opens up so that you can put a little message inside. I have one in mine. Are you wondering what it says? That is the added beauty of these pendants, it helps us keeps our secrets safe. This piece was inspired by vintage Vesta cases which once held matches. One of my passions is translating pieces you would not think of as jewelry into extremely wearable style and this is one of them.
Since my clothes are often a backdrop for my jewelry, I have chosen a pared-down white The Row blouse, and these playful and summery Stella McCartney polka dot pants which I am wearing with Manolo Blahnik sandals.
This is the type of look that allows me to go light, airy and laid back in summer while still looking pulled together - a style that is perfect for any age…
