The Inspiration
“I have been painting quite a bit these days. It has taught me to dig even deeper and look more carefully into the layers and amount of detail that goes into all sorts of art - this of course includes jewelry! I became entranced with natural stones, like agates, when we visited one of our stone suppliers many years ago. All of the larger pieces of these stones were filled with thousands of layers, exposing details inside the actual stone that just never stopped giving.
You can stare at all the large pieces for hours with a magnifier and find something special in every inch. A swirl, a jagged edge, a stripe, a polka dot, a drip - layers and layers of multiple quartz minerals all waiting to be chosen. It became an adventure, a search for the prettiest, most interesting piece. The fun was choosing the section and seeing it cut and polished to become this amazing gemstone, not one looking like the other. Maybe you will find some stones that speak to each other color wise, but each piece is in fact unique, making it a one of a kind."
