A NOTE FROM MONICA
Wearing pieces that tell our stories are daily reminders of what is important to us. In many ways, as women, or jewelry is almost like a tattoo, something we wear daily because it empowers us and makes us feel stronger.
Chronicling your journey through your life with jewelry has value. The styles we come to choose throughout our life journey express our bravery, milestones, celebrations and inspirations. I love something pretty just as much as anyone else, but if it is pretty AND it means something, then to me; it has become invaluable, timeless, a piece that I want to share one day with my daughters, friends and family.
When I leave the house each morning my jewelry is my armor. If I am having a negative moment, or if my week has been particularly challenging, it is okay because I am wearing my carpe diem bracelet or pendant necklace. If someone has not been kind to me, or if someone I care about is not being kind to themselves, its ok because I have my patience charm and it reminds me that we will get to that right moment. If I am stressed, that is okay too, I wear a ring that is engraved with the word breathe, an important reminder for me! How many times a day do we all need to be reminded to take that breath. These are the types of jewelry pieces and personalized pieces that can keep us going.
I also think personalized jewelry is the most expressive and meaningful gift you can give to someone. I always try and give something that is telling about the person. Before selecting a gift, I think a lot about the current life journey of the person I am choosing it for. What is she like, what is she going through in her life at this moment? Is she celebrating a specific milestone? Whatever it is, I want to celebrate with a piece that inspires. Is it a new career move? If yes, then let us get something to truly empower her.
Honestly, I learned so much about this way of thinking from all of you, our customers and brand supporters over the years. I have had the privilege of meeting so many of you in my shops, at my trunk shows and through my earlier photography years. In all those times, our conversations were often so open, revealing and at times very personal. They taught me so much about the things we value, how as women we truly cherish those things that inspire us, and in turn how the right talismans in our lives can become so empowering. It is these learnings that are in my mind, every time I sit down with my team to create a new design or collection.
